Precious Pearl Helps the Poor of Haiti

Operating in Carrefour, the epicenter of the January 2010 earthquake, Precious Pearl Inc. Is a US federal non-profit corporation that sends 64 children to school and feeds 150 students each day. We provided a 14 unit computer lab, and we pay for presents, parties, uniforms, and music programs.

Our partner in Haiti, Pastor Eddy Francois, runs a 2000 member church and Precious pearl pays the rent for the facility, and provides chairs, projectors, and other needs. A second meal program serves 200 people at Pastor Eddy's church.

The Precious Pearl Organization

Precious Pearl was founded in 2005 by Steve Lovell and Mac Barnes. The organization was incorporated as a federal 501(c)(3) non-profit in New Jersey in 2005. 100% of donations are transmitted to Haiti to be used to help the poor. All administrative costs are borne by the founders, from their personal income. Steve Lovell owns and Operates TMT Asphalt in Tampa, Florida, and Mac Barnes is retired from Bloomberg Financial Markets in New York.

Precious Pearl operates a school and a prayer center in Carrefour, Haiti. These operations educated, fed, and supported hundreds of poor Haitians. The January 2010 Earthquake completely destroyed the school. There are plans to open several more prayer centers with meal services, but these must be put on hold until we can rebuild from the quake.

Precious Pearl has conducted 14 missions in Haiti, mostly in the areas around Port-au-Prince and Carrefour. A team of about 80 volunteers comprised of sound men, stage builders, electricians, ushers, intecessors, security, drivers, cooks, musicians, singers and translators provides food, counselling, and entertainment for large crowds of poor Haitians. This entire team goes into action for each mission, bringing hope, cheer, and comfort to the poor of Haiti's capital city and it's environs.
